The Four Jokers – Transfusion / You Did [1956; Diamond]

Telling the story of needing medical treatment after speeding through traffic, the A-side of this single uses some light rock and roll, with the multiple singers taking firm control over the piano underpinnings. Good harmonization and clean melody keep it moving along, but it does come off as just a novelty track. The B-side slows down to ballad speed and intensity, but spends its time accusing the other side of all the things she did wrong, even while asking for a commitment to marriage. An odd little pair, but cute in their levity.
